It happened. Groda the Frog died last night. He was pronounced dead at about 7:20 pm. We believe the COD was overheating though he was too crispy to do an autopsy. A brief funeral and interment ceremony was held prior to his burial in the empty lot next to our house. Groda is survived by his helpful butler and caterer Nathan Maynes, his friends Charity, Kelly, Bradley and Luke Maynes and also his former desk companion Lizzie the Lizard. Groda lived a good life. He reached froghood in our window well. I still remember the moment his cute little arm stretched up and smacked the window and then the following first hop that we were able to witness. He enjoyed his home, the rocks, the log, all the leaves and dirt. He would always hide under the rock next to the edge of the plastic container. We will never forget the times spent huddled around the box where we would all watch in amazment as he would attack his prey and swallow them down in one big gulp. He loved being up at night and hopping around in the light of the computer's screen saver. He was a good little friend to our family and he will be missed. Please take a moment to think of him and wish him well in the new life he has entered. (I never even got a picture of the cute little guy :( Jen, got any tadpoles you want to get rid of :) )
