The Blue Park and a Movie Night

Everytime I've asked the kids if they want to go to the park Luke will always request the "blue park". I had no idea which park he was talking about and no matter what park we went to he never complained that it wasn't blue, so I just took it as one of his little Luke-isms. But last Friday as we pulled up to yet another new park, Lukey screamed out with all the little boy excitement he could muster, "THE BLUE PARK!!!!" I looked over and sure enough, there were quite a few blue things at this park, making it officially, the "Blue Park". We were all very thrilled for him and got all excited :) It was SUCH a nice day too!!

This was through a hole in the tunnel....he's so cute!

Pretty little Kelly

Nate was so fun with the kdis, chasing them around and playing tag, jumping up and down from the playground....looked like a lot of fun! All the while his brand new cell phone sat in the car waiting for him to open it. I just love our daddy!!! He's just so sacrificing.

Charity fell in love with this tree.

Okay, so yeah, this is my new favorite face of Noah's. I think I got a few shots of it while we were at the park that day....his cute two little teeth sticking out biting on his upper lip.....OH I JUST LOVE IT!

Charity and her monkey bars

It's hard to slow this kid down long enough for a picture.

Cute Bradley had a lot of fun on the little zip line. He's getting so big!!

On the way home from the park we decided it would be a good night for a Movie Night.

Steve joined us for a little pizza, popcorn, and Follow That Bird. (that was my favorite movie that my grandparents had, we watched it EVERYTIME we went over to their house....so fun!)

Cute little Noah must have worn himself out because as we were getting the kdis tucked in bed and kind of winding things down for the night (the time of night when Noah is usually wandering around getting in to everything) we found him just wiped out, on the floor, in the middle of the living room. He had found my coat and I think because it's kind of silky like his favorite blanket in his crib, he just made himself comfy. He hasn't done this for a LONG time, but I thought it was cute! He's just cute!

Can't get close enough

Noah likes the coloring drawers so much, he decided to climb on in.

He's a really fun little guy at night when Nate and I are just bumming. He just crawls around getting into everything. Making messes all over the place. I love this age so much!!

Well, for some reason it feels like I haven't posted in FOREVER! But I know it's only been a week. It was a busy week though and I had a lot of thoughts and things that I wanted to post about and now I can't remember what they were. Darn it. But anyway.

I do want to say that we took our car in for the inspection and emissions and we went to a place called Burt Brothers that my Dad suggested and can I just say how awesome they were!!! They had had some problems earlier in the day, so they gave me a card to call to find out when their machine was fixed. Then when we finally went in that evening they took us right in, did the inspection and everything really quickly, found a few things that were wrong (very minor) And offered to fix them right then. Then they only charged us for the parts for part of it and very little for the labor on the other part. Actually charging us LESS than the guy that we have come fix our cars now....anyway. It was really nice. We all walked down the street to McDonald's to wait which was only an hour and a half wait!! On the way to McD's I decided that when I get rich I'm going to start a car repair shop that has a playground for kids so that they can play while they wait. Think of all the moms you would attract! I also decided that we are going to just start carrying around a sign with the number 5 on it so that people don't have to slow down to count our kids. I seriously saw way too many people doing that as we walked down busy Highway 89. Oh well. What do I expect right?

SO anyway. I can't remember all the profound thoughts I had this week......I'll think of them later I guess. For now, I'll just get busy posting the millions of pictures I took this week! yay!

Saturday was a special day

Saturday was such a fun, packed day! First we took Charity out for her birthday lunch and shopping (kinda late, but better than never right?). She saw a build-a-bear thing in her school book order and wanted to get it and when I told her how lame the one on there was, she decided that Build-A-Bear (the REAL store) was where she wanted to go for her birthday shopping trip.

Here she is with the first bear she picked out. The Hannah Montana bear. Course this is not the one she ended up making since she changed her mind another 2 times and ended up with a cute little doggie.

Here she is bathing "Fluffy"

And picking out which toy her puppy would play with on the way home.

And she chose Applebees for her lunch. We had to tease her a little for ordering a HOT DOG!! FROM APPLEBEES!!!! We were both like, "we could have gone to Arctic Circle for a HOT DOG!!" lol. She wants to be all grown up going to a "Mom and Dad restaurant" but she is still a little girl ordering a hot dog :) Love it. (and isn't my husband such a hottie!!)

Yes, I do look tired. Charity's got her eyes open enough for both of us I think :)
So after Applebee's we came home Nate left for his "Manvo" and I waited for our new car fix it guy to come over and fix our car. Maybe you remember back in August how my spare tire fell of the underside of my vehicle?? Well it's been riding in the back of our car for the last whatever months and we were finally able to fix it!! HOORAY!! We can now see out of the back of our car again! Do I sound excited!! Cuz I am!! Such a wonderful day!!
And after that we headed on over to Nate's sister Becky's house for some yummy Navajo Tacos and game night. The kids played around on the play ground for a while. I can't get over how cute Adam and Casey are with my kids! I totally love it!! Noah really couldn't get enough of their attention, they taught him all sorts of tricks.

have you guys seen enough of this cute smile? Because I sure haven't!!

sorry for the underwear shot, but she was pretty proud of herself for this one! I think it's pretty cool too!

Then we played the M&M game! This was way fun....we're going to have to do this one again!

And then Darren got out the snake!!!!! The kids were all very brave! I couldn't believe they all touched and held her so much!! Very fun! Becky and Darren's house is the best with all the animals and fish to look at. Even Noah loved just sitting there and staring at the birds. Fun stuff.

And that was our Saturday! We really didn't do much getting ready for Sunday, but we were actually on time this week, so yay for us!!

We should do this more often

Thursday is one of the days that Steve has off. I have to admit I kind of look forward to his days off because I know I can beg him to come with me on all my pointless errands and that I will have someone there to entertain me and keep me company (yes, it is a very one-sided relationship). Well last Thursday was a really fun one. We played with Nana and drove around a ton.

Steve taught Noah how to air drum in the car while we waited for Nate.

Lukey fell asleep.

Then that night something very funny/embarrassing happened! I am not sure why I'm posting this, but Steve keeps asking me if I have (obviously he isn't a reader) I'm sure he loves the idea of me making a fool of myself in front of you all. SO anyway. We were at Smith's Marketplace in Bountiful (keep that in mind and don't ever shop there). Picking up some treats for my dad. As we were standing in line Steve noticed some yummy Caramel Kit Kat bars and that there was a red tag that said "2/$100" under them. He grabbed one and offered to buy one for me (so sweet!). He set them on the conveyor belt and the lady rang them up. The total came to $1.68. ??????? I was surprised since he was only buying the 2 candybars so I butted in as he was handing the lady his $2 and said, "WAIT! Those were 2 for a dollar right?? Why is it so much?" The lady looked at them for a second and handed the receipt and change to Steve and announced that she couldn't do anything about it and sent us to Customer Service!!!! FOR 68 CENTS!!!! (Now, does anyone else find this strange??? That she couldn't just change the price and ring it up right???? My brother-in-law manages a Target and he's always said how Target has a policy that if.......oh wait, maybe I shouldn't be broadcasting that.....either way, Target would have changed it on the spot for me!!! or us I mean) So I was feeling kind of goofy (no kids around means I can be one I guess) and so I dragged Steve over to the Customer Service desk which only had one guy in line so seemed like a worthwhile venture. Well, turns out the guy was buying a money order or soemthing and having it sent to like Nigeria or something and was completely clueless, so it was like 20 minutes of standing there behind him. Now I don't quite know how to explain how Steve and I were acting while we were in line, but obnoxious might come close to covering it. We were laughing and joking around and Steve kept making fun of me for making such a big deal about 68 cents. There were a few people behind us eventually, and they pretty much looked at us like we were high or something. And now I know (thanks to steve) that i have a "High Girl Laugh", so it may have been even more convincing. But anyway. Okay, so we FINALLY get up to the front of the line. I'm completely hysterical by now and can hardly talk without laughing and I set the candybars up on the counter and holding back the laughter said, "we were overcharged". The lady was annoyed. She asked how much, and I replied, "68 cents" again, barely able to control the laughter. It really was funny for the most part, but at this point it was starting to turn into embarrassing. So she slides this little green slip of paper over to me and asks me to fill it out!!!!! FOR 68 CENTS!!! I looked over at Steve as I began writing my name and address, and said, "am I really filling this out for 68 cents?". Then once I finished filling out the "dollar amount" as $0.68, I realized this was a HUGE waste of time and asked the lady, "Do I really need to fill this out for 68 cents???" She said, "well, wait a minute, let me see those" and takes off (this is important in the story) AWAY FROM THE COUNTER to look at the checkout aisle next to the customer service counter to see what the price tag says on the candy bars there. She walks back over and says, "no, they're 79 cents each, says it right there." And I of course was SHOCKED at first but then realized, we're not idiots, we did see the tag, so I said, "Can you just come over and look at the tag where we got it?" (yes, that is one of the most embarrassing things I've done lately, but I did it!) And this is the funniest part of all!!! She says, "No, I'm sorry, I CAN'T LEAVE THIS COUNTER"!!!!!!! HELLO!!!! YOU JUST DID LADY!!!! Course I didn't think about that then, and just walked over to where we had gotten them, double checked the sign and YES, it DID SAY 2/$100, for the EXACT candybar we were buying, exact size and everything, I even checked the bar code number thing and SURE ENOUGH!!!!! So I couldn't control myself, I had to grab the sign, took some reaching behind the plastic cover, but I got it out of there and walked it over to the Customer Service Lady. She of course was busy with the next customer and I was feeling REALLY stupid by then, so I just set it down on her keyboard (since she wouldn't look at me) and said, "I just wanted you to see this, so you could fix it in your system". And she says to me, "Well, it's going to take a minute to fill out all the forms AND PAPERWORK (can you believe that!)....." and I just cut her off and said, "I'm good, I just wanted you to see that." I wish I would have had the time to stand there and make her fill out all the "paperwork" to get SIXTY-EIGHT CENTS back. (Can you tell I'm getting heated just talking about it). Steve was totally laughing at me. He thought it was hilarious and a huge waste of time. And as much as I think I may have gone just a little overboard......I still want to call the manager and tell them that they're screwed up!!!
(Steve always makes me tell this part) when we were at the Sushi place I realized that I hadn't grabbed the 3 cents change that was leftover from my Dad's treats.....so that's 71 cents that Smith's stole from us (or my Dad and Steve) that night!!
And at the end of it all Steve says, "We should do this more often!"
Oh yeah, and with Steve's picture on here, he wanted me to mention that "Ladies, he's single and AVAILABLE!!!" For all you single ladies out there! I love to humor Steve for some reason.

Duh. I forgot the pictures.

Put these on backwards again. But these are the pics from St. Patrick's Day. I just about died when I saw these pictures. I thought that they weren't going to turn out very good, but I was SO happy about them!!! Call me crazy, but I think my kids are so flippin cute!! So of course I played with them. Comments??

I was trying to make this one have emphasis on the green.....not sure if I like it afterall.....

This is when the kids found their pot of gold.

Looking for the leprechaun

This was on the way home from school.....who doesn't love dropping sticks through a chain link fence into the river.
And I know I totally complained about a lot of things that happened that day, but it really was a GREAT day!!! There may have been some confusion in that area :) so just thought I would clear that up :) It was a nice day!
Today was really nice too!! Thanks again, Ashleigh, for coming!!! I LOVE that you came over!!!!
