Sledding

Another "walk" to the park to go sledding. The kids are gonna die come summer when they find out they have to actually WALK! But this is really fun- still a novelty. The combined weight of the two on each sled is equal! How funny is that!
They get to sit in the sled while we pull it up the hill too! Luckys! The hill was so covered in ice under the snow that it was almost impossible to pull them up the hill! (for me!-- Nate took over after that :))
The Little Monkey fell asleep on the way there and hogged the blue sled the whole time :) Isn't he so cute! How can you sleep in 15 degree weather!?

I couldn't believe we got Bradley to go down with the girls! They went down a bunch with the 3 of them! So fun!!

More Sledding

See! What a good daddy we have!

He's much better at it than I am!

This is what Bubba usually does when we go sledding :) (well, and he plays on the swings and slides :)

Swings are fun ANYTIME!

And you should have seen how slippery it was under the swings! I think ice is slippery-er in Alaska than it was in Utah! (remember how "James" said that about Scotland! HOW LAME!!! :)

This is what my camera did for some reason- but I think it looks sorta cool!

Kelz was being a real cutie that day. She threw a huge fit about wearing her snow pants so we let her go without them and the whole time she kept reassuring her that she wasn't cold. "I not code daddy (teeth chattering) I wiwee not code"
We sure wore Cherry out- she actually had fallen asleep like this once we got home. Again- how can you sleep in 15 degree weather!

The Scenic Route- well, it's also the ONLY route- but it's beautiful!

I have been trying to get a picture of the newly fallen snow on the trees ever since we got here, but I never had the camera with me at the right times (go figure)
But my sweet husband took it with him on what we hope was the last day it snows (we're crossing our fingers, but according to the news last night it wasn't) he was on his way to the church to set up chairs, so some of them are through the car window and over the shoulder and stuff, but it gives you a general idea
Well, and it wasn't that big of a snow, so it wasn't completely covering the trees the way I like- BUT that's the good thing if it actually snows again :) I can try for another picture
Picture all those trees just covered in snow- it's just a big field of white!
I thought Nate did a great job on this one- looks cool! (and cold).

OREOS!

Just because they're unhealthy doesn't mean they're unfun :) The Little Monkey loves his oreos :) (like mother, like son- course I have to dip mine in milk) and yes, I know they are not considered a food anymore, but neither is most of the stuff I cook and we still eat it! (just joking)

Pretty Princesses and Playing in the Snow

These are some of our good friends. "Neena" and "Taywee" playing dress-up with Kelz and Cherry. They decided that Bubba, the Little Monkey, and "Bwyant" were their Princes. That made the boys feel special :)

We're still playing in the snow with our snow shovels-----and it's MARCH!!!

Kelz is a pro!

action photo

This is Bubba Cherry and their good friend "I-ick" (in the words of Kelz and Bubba).

More Fun in the Snow :)

Cherry's such a cutie. She loves going out in the snow- I wish my camera did better in the cold. Cherry's the type that thinks it's warm at 10 degrees and needs to unzip her coat :) Good thing too.

Here's another one of Kelz and "I-ick" shoveling.

Getting Pizza!

Look the sun is still up and it's 7:00pm!!!

After a long week of playing and having fun with Daddy we decided we had to top it off with some yummy Pizza!

This is our favorite little "Mom and Pops" place that we get pizza at, how would you pronounce it? Our Landlord that told us about the place calls it "Napole's" for some reason- so that's what we call it now :)- it's THE BEST!!

Nate, I'm sorry, but I just had to put this on here- it's just so action packed!

MMMMMMMMM!!!!

Update 3-26-07

Hey! So we just finished up our nice Spring Break. Nate was home in the evenings with us every night last week- it was SO great! We had a blast, and got a lot of resting done :)
As you can see in these pictures- we are still in Winter. We have been in the teens for the last week or so. But at least the sun is back! And it's noticeably brighter outside- we are loving that! It's made me see what a huge blessing something as simple as the SUN can be. Never thought I'd say that :) I look forward to the long summer nights where I stay up all night to get a picture of the sun setting at midnight! We are still loving it here.
Our laptop finally killed over :( It's been a long last lap for that critter. But he finally kicked the bucket. So we did end up getting a new computer. It has windows Vista on it (which has turned out to be quite the ordeal, since it's not compatible with any of our stuff), but we do love it, and it's been fun to let the kids play some games on it. They couldn't even come close to the laptop since it would turn off if you touched the screen even to change the position of it. They like playing the games on pbskids.org. Cherry especially, and she's amazingly good at it!
Cherry did something really cool this last Sunday- she got to pay tithing for the first time! That was a neat experience for her- I've always wanted her to want to, and she did this time! It was neat for me too :)
Kelly is really excited for Summer "becuh dat when my burhday ih!" She always tells me when she sees a "moof fign" when we are driving around. And she LOVES all the new things her little "Wookey" is doing!
When I ask Bradley what he likes to do he says "clean the house", so I think we need to be getting him out a little more :) But I'm liking the help :)
Lukey has learned how to crawl up AND DOWN the stairs SAFELY! It's really nice to not have to block off the stairs anymore! The kids all stand around and watch him and cheer him on- so he's got a lot of motivation :) He's growing up SO FAST- it's crazy!
So, I don't know if any of you heard, last Thursday (I think it was) the chapel that shares the parking lot with the Temple was on fire. It took them 12 hours to put it out. And then like a day later one of the pipes under the temple broke (I think that's what they said happened) and there was massive flooding in the basement of the temple- I guess it was flooded up to the first floor- so they took all day pumping the water out--- It's been really crazy news around here- EVERYONE's been talking about it. All day yesterday in Testimony meeting we heard stories about how much publicity this has brought the Church. It's kind of interesting how much it's been on the news, and all the little extra things they say about the Church on the news....it's really been kind of neat! So anyway- opposition in all things I guess- this can actually have a good side too! We're not sure when the temple will re-open, but we assume it will be soon. As far as the Chapel goes- not sure when they will have it up and running either, but it's not our Stake Center so it hasn't affected us too much. Hopefully they will both be all better soon!
So anyway- that's our news. Kinda long- if you made it to the end- you get a point!

I can't wait to see you all when I come down there!! Only a week and a half!! I can't believe it! if anyone has ideas for coping with homesickness let me know- I'm already nervous to leave the family! ............I'm sure it will be fun and I'll be fine though :)
Oh, and if you want to see the video clips from our sledding trip (and more :)) Go to my gmail thing. It's gmail.com, sign in is maynesvideoclips@gmail.com, and the password is christa.
Two points if you made it to here :)

Cherry's Birthday!

We made a big sign and put up streamers and balloons to decorate for Cherry's birthday. She's so funny because she is the one that kept replaying to us how she would walk down the stairs, her birthday morning, and be "SO SURPISED to see all the decorations". She really did act surprised too :) What a nut! And as always- the rest of the kids were just as excited as she was.

What a cutie- hovering over the presents until Daddy gets home and she can open them :)

Cherry got to open ONE present when Daddy stopped by at home for a second. She chose to open one of the ones SHE had picked out with birthday money :)

Her Cinderella Barbie and Horsie

NOW you can open your presents!! .......Do I have to open the card
first?

What is it?

Yummy candy!! YAY!!

AND A DOG!!!!!!

Oh, I'm so excited!!

I'm gonna hold you and love you and keep you for my very own :)
Cherry loves dogs! (isn't that the understatement of the century!)

"I just love my doggie!"

a new shirt- woopdeedoo-

Now dressup clothes- that's a real present!

Sleeping Beauty and tinkerbell- Don't we look so pretty!!
