Our new little moose friend

So, we have this new moose that has come through our yard- just making the rounds- two days in a row now. Both times it was while the kids were in the backyard playing and they all come running in screaming, "A MOOSE!!! A MOOSE!!!" So I think they could pretty much take care of themselves with how loud they were- they pretty much scare the thing away. But when he came by yesterday he was RIGHT NEXT to our fence. He goes so fast though, that we didn't have time for a picture. (you can understand the moral dilema- my children are screaming for some adult supervision at a time of panic, and I stop to grab the camera- not a good idea right?- maybe next time.) Anyway- they are still such FASCINATING creatures!! Annie- at this point, I'm pretty sure the moose were conspiring against you and Austin and that's why it took us SO LONG to see one for you guys!!

A Day of Moose!

So, we were just standing in our kitchen, and we looked outside and saw this moose walking around the neighbor's yard. He didn't walk long- he just found a nice spot and laid down! But it was SO CLOSE to us and our yard. Since we have a fence our yard I felt a little safer being out there by them, but our fence is only like 3 feet tall, so I shouldn't have felt too safe :), but it was awesome!!

There's another one (I seriously took like 80 pictures of all the moose we saw yesterday!

I got this one to show how close they were to our yard. This is our deck- that is our fence, and there is the moose just right in the next yard over. SO COOl!!!

Here's another one :) We just kept our eyes on them ALL day while we watched conference.

After about 2 hours of sitting and watching the moose sit there- along came this other one!! They walk so fast- I didn't get a very good picture of this one, but you get the idea- this is the shed in our backyard!

In this one, the moose going through the stuff in the neighbors' yard.

This picture is just awesome! I was about 15 feet away from the moose!!

This is when he was looking right at me!! Don't tell anyone- but I was totally shaking!!! He stared at me forever- until I finally turned around to walk away. Luckily I had that huge fence there to protect me :)

And this is both of the moose together that second one just went and sat down by the other one and they sat there for another hour or so- we missed them getting up- but it sure was cool to see them!

More Moose

Not too much longer after the other moose left- this one was cited! This one was walking in the other direction, and just walked right through, he didn't sit down and rest. But that is our swingset- to give you an idea of how close he was!

There he is eating from the tree. SO COOL!!

Moose are the most fascinating animals I have ever seen!!!

I'm not sure if this is the same one, but we saw this one shortly after the other one walked away- this is across the street. That is Nate's car right in front of him- it was SO COOL!!!

And here he is again walking through another neighbor's yard- we got this picture on the way to take nate to the Priesthood session- these moose just do whatever they want!! I so wish we had some more trees that they wanted to eat! Then we could have them come in OUR yard! Course this one showed up as the kids were walking out to the car to go- that could be kinda freaky if they were any closer :) Charity sure thought it was :)
